Goodness and Goodwill

A society's harmonious progress is intrinsically linked to the goodwill of the majority of its citizens and the higher that majority the more progressive and harmonious is that society's welfare. When a government has to tax and spend heavily on social welfare it is a sure sign that goodwill is seriously lacking. Commerce also pays a hefty price for any lack of goodwill and recourse to prosecution and/or litigation is a costly substitute for the kindness of this ethic. Goodwill is a basic ethic of true Christianity and is founded on the general commandment to do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Where Christianity is denigrated or debased then that society loses its heart and kindness. In the following aphorisms God reaffirms the worth of goodwill.

'Never be afraid to be good.'

'Goodwill towards the truth fosters peace and joy.'

'If you see this life as a test of goodwill you have some understanding of why you are here.'

'Great wealth is not a prerequisite to being clean and tidy, goodwill can be.'

'A clean spirit fosters goodwill and a tidy mind.'

'Goodwill promotes peace.'

'Peace on earth for all of goodwill is God's will.'

'Patience is an essential aspect of goodwill and goodwill is the foundation of true democracy.'

'In a healthy democracy goodwill is a responsibility accepted by most citizens.'

'To love one another is to be of goodwill.'

'Pragmatism without the graciousness of goodwill, can bulldoze peace aside.'

'False witness, in all its forms, is a grave offence against trust and goodwill.'

'If smoking is foolish, then evil pollution is disastrous.'

'Fanaticism is not of Me but of he who of himself is extreme and adverse to My goodwill towards you and the freewill that is part of that benefit.'

'Goodwill in its true sense is never extreme or overpowering.'
